    Final Countdown

    Hi All,

I have the Dvd of the Final Countdown and one of the bonus disk is all of the Air to Air stuff the CAF guys did with the 14s.

They interview all the pilots and yes the Navy almost lost three 14 one you can see in the movie and two others that are out-takes. Both of the CAF birds were re-engine super T-6s with the Three blade prop

They actually went up and dog fight each other and because of the speed differance the CAF guys would win or come out even. A large Fighter like the 14 or 18 can’t maintane the tight turn of the Prop planes because they just fall-off.

As for Tora Tora Tora six of the Zero were re-engine birds and if you watch the P-40 Zero Dog fight you will see twice that the P-40 has a High Wing stall and drops one was real close to being a fatal.

I’m sure God’s trying to wipe out Florida so there won’t be any more dodgy elections to get Bush back in through the back door again!

    Now Dave,

Do really want this on this board its bad anothe the Military Board has to start stuff. 🙁 As for the Election right or wrong we have a system that works and besides this isn’t the first time that a person who lost the Popular vote won the election. 😮

S for the Sunderland Kermit doesn’t have room inside for it right now. The last two have missed the Polk City area completly.

I did read online that the Pensacola Naval Air Museum hit by Hurricane Ivan did well, with only 2 outside aircraft getting minor damage a week ago. Considering what happened right around them, including on the naval base, they are very lucky!

    Hi China Clipper,

The Following aircraft have received damage at the Museum.

R4D Que Sere Ra severally damage right wing completly ripe off the airframe
PB4Y lost #3 engine and the plane was push into three other aircraft
A-6 Lost canopy also Left wing was folded over and back of the plane
A-3 Whale was push into the back of the C-54
E-1 Left wing ripe off at the fold
UnKnow Aircraft next to the SNB had right wing ripe off and tail section torn and twisted
    F-4 Had right wing damage
    S-2 and P2v hit by the PB4Y
PBY was move about 35% from its tie down
    P-3 Protype lost its rudder

Of the above aircraft at least four have been severly damage and all of the outside aircraft have siome sort of wind damage.

If you go to the wix forum look up Naval Air Museum overhead shot it shows the whole ramp.

The last one is a Levente II primary trainer from the Hungarian Air Force. I think the photo shows the Levente that landed in Switzerland during April (?) 1945.

    Regards,

    Jan

    Sorry Guys,

    Voss Aircraft

Seem to recall a Balkenkreuz being in the IWM? Or am I thinking of somewhere else?

    Hi Aj_march

The plane you are thinking of is Werner Voss of Jagsta 10 who was killed in combat on 9/23/17. Their is a new bbok out about his last flight now if their is ever a mystery in who shot down a German Ace then this is the one that needs to be disected.
