The Third is a Mitsubishi Ki-67 “Peggy” with its nose change for Kamikazi attacks

Peter I’m Confuse???????????
The iarcraft is located at Hall Beach. The leader of the project states
If anyone would like to contact the fellow in charge to offere help or donate towards her recovery I can pass along email info via a pm to me..Cees,
The Lincoln section is still there in the lake and on the shoreline. I was sent many photos of this aircraft but sadly I am unable to post on the internet as per the owners instructions. All can say is that there is at least a 15 to 20 foot section of fusealge from aft of the front spar to the cockpit laying on its side near the shore and the wing sections, canopy frame and engine parts are dumped on the shoreline. Apparently there are more parts still in the lake including the tail section.
Hi Peter,
I’m alittle confuse over the Lincoln, do I understand your post that the owner of the plane has it scattered all over the shoreline, or is that the person who took the photos wish that they aren’t posted?
If its the later then what is stopping people from going in and doing the recovery. Besides $$$$ and the proper paperwork.

Do you know if he might?????????????
The A-4 is out ot graze but I think the F-5 is a possibility for the future. I will check source.
Mark
Hi Mark12,

Not the Suddy I was talking about the Starlinner
Not too sure of where Crazymainer got his information from, but the following is the history of this aircraft:
Regards,
Richard
Hi Richard,
I was talking about the photo of the 1649 that is a Kermits now not the Suddy. I know the owner and the three 1649 very well.
Archer,
The owners name is Mariauc Roundal,at the faciity here in Maine the other two are based along with a large size of of spars.

Lockheed 1649 Starliner
This one was parked outside between a B-24 and a B-26, it flew in just a couple of months previous but that apparently was a story in itself as its airworthiness was a bit debatable.
Hi Archer,
I can speak on this plane this is one of the Three Complete 1649 Starlinners that Maine Coastway ownes. This plane is slightly historic, during its life with Lufstansa it was the West German Air Force One. It sat for many years at Ft.Lardurdale when the airport authority decide to clean up Rust Bbelt side of the airport they gave the owners three weeks to get her out.
Well six months later they start out for their trip to Maine, well just south of Sanford the whole right side main bus let go and at the same time #3 started spitting oil and #1 got a runaway prop indication so they declared an in-flight and land at Sanford Fla. Airport. At the time a FAA safety convention was going on so as you came geuss there were alot of questions.
About two years ago they decide to get her out so the owner work out a deal with Kermit to keep it their for 5 years. They sourced parts from the other two complete ones up he at Lewiston-Auburn Maine plusthe other parts from two firier dump wrecks from Alaska.
I saw her three days before the first flight trails and she does look alot better then she did back in the Sanford days.
Hope this helps

Kermit Weeks , He-111 is from the movie, also David Tallichete old one is from the movie.
Most of the 111 were scrap after there service, but I’ve heard reports that in Madrid is the remains of atleast three but never could confirm this report. As for the 109s Connie still has 6 including the Rare Two Seater. This is the one that Galland flew with Jonnie Johnson during the making of the film.

Lockheed Connie
Hi JDK,
Well lets see how well I do at this game sorry about not jumping in sooner.
Its the Wind-Tunnel Test for the Fairey F.C.1, the plane never came do to the War. One of the many rummors about Howard Hughs Connie design is that an Ex-Fairey designer showed Howard a rought copy of the plane and Howard the took the basic design kept the Wing redisign the Nose and add a third tail.
So how did I do? 😮 😀
Oh by the way I saw previews for the new Howard Hughs flic it looks like its going to be a good one. 😉

Hi Dave,
“Is it focusing on just the American collectors, or will there be a more worldwide approach to it? There are a few interesting stories here in New Zealand alone, Armstrong and Darby, John Smith, etc…”
Yes the book will be covering all of the major people pluss some of the lesser know. Mark12 has been a big help with contacts in the UK. I’ve been in touch with Mr.Darby a very nice gentlemen.
“I don’t know a great deal about either David Tallichet or Doug Arnold”
Between these two guys they were able to save some of the more important aircraft out their. Here is a small list of some of davids aircraft
3 P-51
10 PBY
All of the South American P-47 that came out in the mid-70s
9 A-26
7 or 8 C-123
O-47
4 SB2A
3 T-33
7 P-40
As you can see Dave this is a small list one of the things I’m going to be geting here sometime this month is the actual list of aircraft that David has owned over the past 30+ years.
As for Doug here is what I have off the top of my head I’m sure Mk12 and other can add to this list.
12 Spitfire
3 Hurricains
All of the Ex-India B-24
2 B-17
I’m hoping that I can get a list of all of the Aircraft that Doug owned also but I’m having problems with his son.
