    John,

Yes I agree lets get them all off Gate Guard dutys 😮 , but the 24 should have gone to Yankee Air Force since it was build at Willow Run and they have been looking for a 24 to add to their collection.

Hell at the time this all was happen their was agroup who was willing to purchase the 24 from the Air Force. Surely this would have help them USAFM more then trading it to Duxford for a Bloody Spit that are a Dime A Dozen throu out the World. :p

Plus not only did they get the 24 put they also got a nose section. 😡

Since we are still on this import subject I would like to get the P-38 back from France Oh wait it was destroyed along with a few other US Build items trade to the French for nothing. 😡

Maybe we could get back the B-29 on display at Duxford, I got an idea we’ll trade you the 29 for a Spit sounds like a great deal, sure would bring it even with the 24 for Spit. 😀

P-61 Black widow from China, in flying condition .. well you did say money no object!

    Hey Sparky,

The Black Widow is No longer on outside display. The rumor is that its either been put away for safe keeping or that someone from the States has bought it.

China was asking 1.8 Million US for it the last time I talk to someone who was very interested in the plane.

    Don’t blame us Yanks

    Hey Dave,

Don’t blame us Yanks for the Social History Books of England.

Besides if you did the same survey he in the States you would get the same results.

Why because the PC Left of the World want everything to sound and look right. 😡

    Hi David,

The reason why alot of us are still upset about the 24 was instead of going over to Duxford the plane could have gone to Yankee Air force Museum which has been looking for a B-24. Besides their was another two 24s here in the states that the USAFM could have used for trade.

As for a price for the 24, when this all came out the price tag put on the 24 was 1.8 Million US a far more then the 950,000 US for the Spit.

    B-24 at Duxford

    Ok Guys,

As for the Duxford B-24 the main reason alot of us are upset about this trade was the USAFM gave you guys a complete bird and replace it at Lackland with a fiberglass rep., weel if they could have put at fiberglass rep. at Lackland then why not just send Duxford a fiberglass one and sell the 24 to pay for both, plus the Spit.

And by the way did the USAFM really ned to get a Spit from England I’m sure at least one or two US collectors who have a # of them would have trade them something for a Spit.

As for how many 24 we need how about this all of them, heres a deal we will ship you all of the Spits and you can return use are Navy stuff and the B-17s. 😀

What is the current flight status of the Sunderland ?

    Hi Shorty01,

Right now its not airworthy its sitting outside of the Main Hanger.

Since we are talking about importing stuff and me being a Yank I would like to see the French B-17,and Sally-B. All of are Navy stuff and the P-47 and esspically the Bloody B-24 that was sent to Duxford that still PO alot of use here in the States. 😡

    Ok Guys,

Like I said since I broke this story and have been talking with the powers to be at Pensacola.

Here is what I’m willing to say, since I’m writing a story about this aircraft and the other Brewester Build aircraft.

One the Deal isn’t quite done yet, still has to get The Naval History Centers approval. Now for the plane its self it will be returned to the Storage build along with the Lake Mich. TBM,FM-2 ect.

As for the what it will be mark as they still don’t have a space to put it into the restoration center. So please quite trying to quess what they are going to paint it up as. Oh by the way this plane does have a US Navy Bu# so anoth on that subject.

Now for the photo at the beginning of these thread when I informed the guys at Pensacola about the photo they were’nt to please, you see all of the photo guys were instructed they could take photos but intill the deal was complete they were BARRED FROM POSTING,PUBLISHING the photos. They all signed a piece of paper stating this.

Aero51 has told me that its from another board that has been inform by me that they are in violation of a direct US Navy request and don’t be suprise if someone from the US Navy comes knocking. As for this board I was told by my contacts that they are’nt going to come knocking.

So please do me a big favor and be happy that the plane is somewhere it can be put on display and let me get the hold story done.

    OK Guys,

Since I broke the news and have been buring the airways between Maine and Florida the past two days. I can tell you that there is alot more going on then is being reported.

I’m working on an artilce for Warbird Digest that is going to tell some of the hiden facts.

Also this plane had a US Navy Bu# originally but was sold before being taken on strength by the US Navy. Also there is aleast three Buffalos remains that can be restored.

    So Papa Lima,

Say if I register the 190 in the States and got a FAA Permit to Fly under Limited Cat. can I then bring it to the UK and fly it.

The reason I ask is how some of the Home Builds IE StarDuster, Long EZ, new Waco UPFs ect. can get a permit to fly from the CAA but they will not let the new build FW190.

    Cheers

    H iAll,

Since we are talking about RNZAF stuff Dav are you aware that over on the wix board their is a thread about a Corsair that has been in storage for 20 Years plus that is an ex-RNZAF bird that is now for sale.

Its here in the States I don’t know much about it bur Rob Mears the Corsair posted something.

As for airframes moving from one place to another I know that alot of us here in the States wer not to happy with the USAF when they ship off the old Lackland AFB B-24M and replaced it with a fiberglass copy.

    Cheers
