Let’s hope there is stuff out there, 😀 but I’m a little surprised that there would still be much out there at all, as I was led to believe the desert had largely be picked clean of anything by the locals over the past half a century.
That’s what the locals were saying in Tunisia when I was there 5 years ago, and anything that is left, is because it got covered by sand and can’t be seen anymore.
There was that supposed LRDG truck that was discovered some years back, and I believe a new battery was put on it, a fluids change, and it was started up or driven out of the desert…..or something like that, I believe it’s on display somewhere in Egypt now.

Yes alot of stuff was cleaned up in the mid50s thru early 60s. But that was stuff around the major citys like Tripolie.Remmeber alot of the Air Base where locate far from the major citys.
Yes alot of stuff has been buried but there has been alot of stuff unbuired, as for other Goodies yes there are alot of Armor out there I’ve ssen photos of 12 Tigers sitting in a dump. Plus here is a little unknow fact that the Libyain Military used alot of German Armor that was left behind for themselfs and there is still quite alot of it sitting in there dumps.
As for aircraft well there is still around 200+ aircraft out their including some rather rare stuff, i can’t get into the details but think about what was used during the early part of the Desert War on both sides.
As for the LRDG their are at least three here in the States that I’ve heard about one the US Army Musuem has and the other two are in private hands.
