Didn’t it have a pretty bad scrape a few years ago – running into a small building or something? I seem to recall some very bad damage.
Hi Daz,
Your think of the CAF Arizona Wings 17 Sentimental Journey, she lost a brake and ran into a dumpster at Burbank Airport on Nov. 11 1988. Also the Collings foundation had a one main landing a few years back this was after the off the runway crash.

Mark,
Don’t have any road trips that are to exciting unless you count last years trip over to Geneseo with Ryan and Scott nothing exciting just target by the NY ANG F-16s. Not sure why something that Scott and Ryan had done a few weeks before going to Canada.
How about a six hour flight had a few of those :diablo:

Believe he was in the 100th BG in the Eighth during the war and had at one time several aviation themed resturants around the USA. One near me in Atlanta, Georgia USA at Peachtree Dekalb airport. Using the 57th Fighter Group as its theme ( P-47’s).
Think he was one of the pilots in the film The Memphis Belle,a salute to him for saving many a warbird.BlueNoser352 !
BlueNoser,
Yes David was a 100th BG First Pilot flew I think 27 missions, he is the CEO and Founder of Specialty Restaurants which have a number of Avaition Themed.

Mr. Bergstrom,
The list is a tad off, I’m in the process of going thru all of Davids records for the book I’m doing on the early Warbird Collectors.
The list I have so far has David owning either outright of part of a group 278 aircraft and counting.
As for the following,
B-26 add one more
Hawker Fury/Seafury add 10 more
Mig-17 three more
Mig-15 two more
TBM one more
C-123 six more
T-6 two more
Tora Tora Val two
Tora Tora Kate one
The above # include alot of Classic aircraft like three Stinson 108, Aeronco Champ, C-120/140 two Aeronca C-3s
I hope to have a very complete list done sometime by the end of next year, I’m presentaly making plans to visit all of theaircraft that David has out on loan and then going to be goi9ng to Barstow and Chino to have alook around his compounds.
Cheers

If you would like to have the feel of your home Country I can always find you some nice place up here in Maine, remember we are looking to start a new Air Musuem and could use a retired like Gent to run the day to day operations.
Plus the Lobster and Moxie are a hell of lot cheaper here then they are in other parts of the States.
Cheers
RERMr.Setter,While I am sure that Maine is very pretty, and I have the highest respect for Mr.Rohr.Unless you enjoy freezing your BALLZOFF,avoid the East coast of the U.S.A..Come to sunny Southern California. It costs more to live here, but the advantages are many(like no snow)and Chino is 20 minutes away.also ignore the media reports of violence.I have lived here all of my life and havent been shot at once(I did have a DC-9 crash in my front yard once). My Kevlar T-shirt is still in its package and the batteries in the Tazer are dead.Good luck to you whereever you do finally wind up.Tim
Tim,
Its never cold here 😀 just because I can look out my front window and see five feet of snow in my front yard doesn’t mean its cold yea it gets a tad winter every now and then but hey we don’t have to worry about Wild Firers,Earthquakes,Mudslides all we have is an Ice Storm ever now and then. 😮 😀
Well John don’t leave us in Suspence have you any ideas or is Mrs.Parker going to be picking the new AVM Parker retirment home for waywere lost historical aircraft nuts.

Is there any public transport to this event? I’ll be off work for summer in August and am very tempted to go. Being a non driver might make it a bit awkward though.
Ross,
I’m sure there will be a few of us who can give you a lift to the show, if you decide to come over 😀

No Spit’s yet!
Rob
I’m not sure what the plan is yet for Kelly & myself. Besides that fact I NEED TO BE THERE. What is the N.E. WIX plan. Is there one yet?I was hoping to make a few side stops (like MAPS in Ohio). That part of the trip is still in the works.
Tim
Hi Tim,
The plan that we are working on is getting a RV for the grand Wix Road Show, the last time I spoke with Scott about it was he was going to look into it and get back to me.
If we do the RV route then it should be rather fun, wonder if you can get in that much trouble for RV Surfing 😮 😀

If the Collings foundation planes and the CWH lanc are added to the list, I might drive the 1500 miles to the show… 🙂
It could be the biggest number of B-17s seen anywhere for a long time…
Hi John,
Both of the Collings aircraft are slated to be there as I guess they are trying to work out the money with the Lanc.
Can you see the photo op now, the 17s in a staggered box followed by the Lanc in lead with both 24 off wing and the 29 in the slot.
With the four 25 following them yea baby its going to be a fun show 😀

Hi Mark,
I would give Ryan a call at the Foundation and have a chat with him. If you need his # send me a e-mail offline and I will give it to you.

Hi All,
This is one of three biggest show in the States this year, they are working on getting the CWH to bring the Lanc over.
I will be going with a rather large group of us New England Folks.

I heard the United States was offering Iran aircraft and spare parts on the condition it suspends its nuclear program.Iran does still operate a number of F-14s,so the possibilty is there for some of the stored airframes and spare parts to go to Iran if this deal comes to light. At least one country would continue to operate the Tomcat even if we retired it.
Sorry but I find this real hard to swallow, if they get soem 14 then i will be the next President of the United States and then crown the new King of England 😮
(HRH)RER
Hi,
The airframe was purchase by Kermit Weeks 6/85 he had it transfer to Ace High in the winter of 88 where it has sat.
RER
Hi All,
I think you will find that most of these F-14 are slated for museum and long term dry storage.
I know when I was talking to the folks at Pensacola they indicated that they where going to be recieving 60+ Tomcats for museum placement.
Also I know that a new section at AMARC has been set aside for the F-14 that will be going out their.
