The Corsair is now owned by Jack Erickson, I believe it is still active on the US display circuit.

    Septic.

    Hi Septic,

Unfortunate all of Jack stuff doesn’t fly any more. It all has something to do with P-38 Crash that killed Jeff Ethell.

    Hey Melv,

Are you going to send Patty up to New England Air Musuem so he can get use to the cockpit lay-out before he jumps into your Baby 😀

I’m sure the guys at NEAM wouldn’t mind Steve do some run ups of their aircraft 😮

    Hello Sir,

Question when you deplode what route did you take to Europe,

The reason I ask is nearly all of the B-17 going to Europe seem to have stop in Maine. I was wondering if you passed thru Dow Field in Bangor Maine. If so what is your thoughts of the base.

Thank you in advance for any information.

    Cheers

I still see alot of people mixing history and warbird, as if they have to collide in the same sentence, history is aviation past, not warbird aviation past! if so, then please rename the forum to reflect this.

    Sorry Canadair,

A warbird History is is Historical so one is the same. As for what is Historical and what isn’t here is a simple one then.

Koloman Mayerhofer is building two Albatross D.III one will be flown with a very rare 6-cylinder Austro-Daimler ( one of only six know)the other will be for static. koloman has used the right type of wood, cotton and has the right erea engine so what are we going to call it.

I say it can be only called one thing a Orignial Rebuild using new materials.

Also Kermit Weeks just had a DR.1 done to orignial plans thow it doesn’t have a Oberusel Rotary in it Yet, when he puts it on then what are you all going to call this. Once again I say se my answer above.

I guess what we all need to determine is what is a Kit aircraft War FW190 and what is a reproduction/rebuild any full scale WWI or Texas Oscars.

I suppose the Boxkite and Avro Triplane replicas at Shuttleworth were not considered historic at one time, but now they are 40 years old themselves, are they?
    mmitch.

    No MM,

They are Historic Replicas of aircraft that do not exist anymore, now in my book if they use the right type of wood and cotton and wire bracing and engine then they are a reproduction using original prints and matierails.

So what say the rest of you.

    Steve,

Question what is the Badge on the left side of the aircraft near the nose and did you pick any squadron for your markings.

I do like the Red Flash adds some pop 🙂

    Richard,

Yes I’ve heard it being up for sale over the past few years also but everytime Verns has beeen ask he has said its not for sale end of subject.

Last Years OShkosh I was standing next to him when a certain well know collector ask him the question and Vern said it might be for sale but he really didn’t want to sell it unless someone here in the States bought it.

    Galdri,

I’m not upset I had a great day at work made a boat load of $$$, I don’t like when someone calls someone a Liar and then doesn’t back it up. I will not get drawn into a conversation on this thread about the P-40 thread but I will say this, Paul Coggin is one of the most Respected Researchers that I have ever had the honor of talking to and using for source and I’ll be damn if I’m going to let someone run him down for something that was be-on his controll.

Now back to the MATS Connie thread

    This is Crap 😡

I think the US Gov. should step in and stop the sale to anyone outside of the USA, under UNESCO Law they couls and should this aircraft belongs in the States it was never I repeat never a Civilian Airlinner it serve here in the North East of the USA for most of its military life.

And before someone goes now rob back off Vern can do what ever he wants to do with his aircraft your right he can and he should of at least made it aviable to any USA buyer. I know of at least three people who would have purchase it.

I find it rather interesting that the US Warbird Movement didn’t know it was for sale, i sure the Hell didn’t know and i’m involved with Connies here in the State of Maine, the first time I or matter of fact a lot of us heard it was for sale was when someone put up something over on Wixs.

I know guys assocated with MATS bird and they didn’t know it was for sale.

(while also seemingly attempting to make the case that the US deserves everything they get since they initially were the ones who did in fact arm the Mid East.)

    I sorry Col. Bird,

But your wrong we didn’t arm the whole Middle East, Yes we have sold to Israel, Egypt, Saudis along with some of the smaller countrys.

But I’m here to tell you that the Russians, french, Germans, China and North Korea have sold more arms to Middle East Countrys combine then the USA has.

Lets take a look at a few samples,

Syria Russian Build Aircraft and Armour China Build Light Weapons
Egypt Russian Aircraft and Heavy Armour
    Libya Russian Items China Items
    Iran Russian Items French Items
    Jordan French Items German Items
Yeman Russian Items China Items North Korea Item

Then of course we can all talk about Iraq also,
    French Aircraft
    Russian Aircraft
    German Medium Vechiles
    Russian Tanks
    China Missle Systems
    North Korea Missle Systems
    French Heavy Armour
    Russian/China Light Arms

So yes we supply some countrys but nothing compair to the above mention countrys.

As for the EU lifting the bann are they bonkers or has someone been passing around some smoke.

    Ok then,

It appears to be a Bruno Scholz design Mono-Plane which is based on one of Fokkers earlier mid-wing Mono-planes.

I beleive Lothard married Brunos Sister.

    Ok Then,

After rechecking the photo and looking at the wing it appears to be one of the many Etrich designs notice how the wing tappers back like a birds wing, this is a Etrich trait. If I was going to guess I would say one of the very first Etrich Monoplanes the engine is a Five Cylinder La Rhome the stander engine for that time period.

I would guess to say one of the gentlemen is Igo Etrich.
